the immediate view to my right.
(above me is a giant mainline of fluorescent lights, which i swear i’m allergic to / make me even more tired than this new sleep schedule.)
subtext: belle & sebastian’s “get me away from here, i’m dying.” :)
actually, at this time last year i was so beyond miserable/overwhelmed/exhausted. this year everything is much more manageable, even if i have way more to do. love you, learning curve!
can’t even explain how much better my morning was after getting this photo of buddy via text from my little brother. i get to see them both tomorrow!
so looking forward to the big beautiful mountains, scenic views, my favorite dog playing in creeks and running around, long walks with my mom, long talks with my dad, learning how to cook new things with ana, probably watching movies with the lil bro and enjoying thanksgiving with the rest of my crazy wonderful family.
Now. Bogey today.
adooooorable. can’t wait to see my snuggly golden in three days!
why i want to go outside (look at that sun!) / why i need to stay inside.

registered for spring classes today! so far on the agenda: wills, trusts, and estates, legal ethics, intellectual property in cyberspace, federal personal income tax.
also got my exam deferrals secured so i won’t have to take four finals in five days, which would have been absolutely brutal (and against a lot of rules).
breathing a momentary sigh of relief!
visceral! not shocking, since i completely love city lights (lights over a city - you get me everytime) and bokeh.
The 10 Best Real Simple Recipes of All Time
I love it when Real Simple tackles food. The recipes they publish are always delicious, nutritious, and SO easy (uhh… simple?). Plus, these dishes are all hearty and filling — perfect to try during the chilly fall and winter months. Put these recipes on your “to make” list right now:
- Golden Chicken with Tomatoes and Olives
- Southwestern Beef Chili with Corn
- Spiced Lamb Chops and Smashed Peas
- Baked Cod and Chorizo
- Curried Rice with Shrimp (pictured)
- Lasagna-Style Baked Ziti (I loooove this one! Use whole wheat pasta, lean ground turkey, and add more veggies, like zucchini or broccoli, to healthify it a bit.)
- Sweet Potato Risotto
- Basic Quiche
- Roasted Apple and Walnut Tarts
- Croissant and Chocolate Bread Pudding
mmmm the picture drew me right in, because i have more than a few pounds of shrimp waiting to be eaten! dinner party soon!
