we expected something better than before
we expected something more

this song is on my ‘easy chill sleep songs’ playlist. and also ‘february, finally.’ :)

While in Bethesda, I made a stop at the apple store! It had already started snowing but while in Rome…
I got a new powercord and another iPhone case -the iSkin solo fx in passion. It’s red and I love it so much already! I literally tried like 10 cases before I found one I liked - I asked a genius if I could open a case, and he’s like you’re not supposed to, but if I don’t see you, it’s not a problem. Thanks apple guy!

Bethesda in the snow.

Bethesda in the snow.

I have been feeling like death for the last 6 days - and the snowpocalypse has meant student health has been closed and I haven’t been able to get antibiotics (reminding me that I really need to get a GP here!) and have continued feeling like death.

Well, today momsers rec’d I go to a CVS minute clinic since school was again closed. A quick metro ride to Bethesda later and a 10 minute walk I had reached Mecca.

The nurse prac was super nice and gave me the amoxicillin prescript that I asked for, after checking my vitals and all that jazz. All in all, great experience - but probably helped by the fact I knew I had a sinus infection and knew exactly what prescript I usually get for it. There was no one in line so I waited 3.2 seconds while I filled out a form with my name and address.

So happy antibiotics + sudafed can work their magic on me tonight. Here’s to hoping I feel more like a human and less like a zombie ASAP!

in case you hadn’t heard… it’s snowing in DC. i think it’s hilarious how this city shuts down… and i don’t mind the time off school, especially since i don’t have to:

dig my car out of the snow
shovel a driveway
have my travel plans delayed
get snowed out of an exam

AND i got a ton of errands done! yay snow day :)

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

thought i was over it but i'm not.

i am sick. so so so so sick. wish my mama was here to make me chicken noodle soup and lemon tea even though i’m 23 and sick.

instead i spent approximately friday-sunday:

  • washing dishes
  • laughing my ass off / being slightly hyper
  • laying across my chair watching it snow / chilling
  • blowing my nose

my face is red & raw from blowing my nose but tomorrow’s a snowday and at least i don’t have to go to school.

JDS architects: experiencing the void
architecture turned into enjoyment and participation. instead of contemplating the void of the guggenheim museum’s central space, JDS architects have proposed an experience which sees a trampoline net spiraling down the institution’s rotunda. this idea plays on frank lloyd wright’s original scenography for the guggenheim in which he envisioned patrons visiting the exhibition from the top, downwards.

their insurance would be THROUGH THE ROOF. but how cool.

i could make this. i could carve out a section of floor for paints and pots and canvas.
we can do so many things in this life and it’s so simple it’s amazing.
i wish saba still lived two minutes away and i could buy her supplies and she would paint me the most extraordinary things.
